Where my father watched my great grandfather pass away

For a lifetime sat,

in the same simple place.

After sorrow, sacrifice, serenity,

and other human sensations

I will never feel.

Still I stay watching

over four generations of the same

sorry family.

After rot and renovation,

discipline and divorce.

I can never say I love you, goodbye.

But eventually I will fade away,

then be forgotten.

Insignificant to most passing by.

I would make millions as a televangelist

I wish I was heartless
like Peter Popoff.
Maybe then I could get rich
off of the gullible people
who were dumb enough
to trust me.
Wouldn’t it be so much easier,
without this ridiculous empathy and compassion.
